• Local Professionals

Much as our owner, David Sears, there are local professionals who live greater than 50% of their time in Kyiv, Ukraine. We use these people when practical for many reasons, most importantly their knowledge of the country, its politics and barriers. Since these people are here, they do not submit expenses when working in Kyiv. Only when outside of Kyiv are typical charges accrued.

• Professionals from Abroad

Professionals from outside Ukraine bid their daily rates as air travel inclusive. With a team in Ukraine a lot of work can be done electronically. Site visits are identified and arranged for the best possible use of available manpower and information that can be gathered from inside Ukraine as well as abroad. These professionals bill for lodging and meals only during their stay in Ukraine, by separate invoice, approved by the client.

• A Team on the ground!

Energy Solutions is staffed with Clerical, Secretarial and Translation assistance through our association with International Business Solutions (IBS) www.ibsukraine.com . We typically use the same people on a project so the knowledge increases and the staff understand the project, its terminology and configurations. This is an absolutely necessary element, which is often given low priority, especially when working with the government or seasoned Engineering personnel. IBS charges a transparent daily rate, weighted by the number of personnel involved dictated by the requirements of the project. In addition IBS has adequate office space for the team to do their work and have access to the latest technologies.

• Simplified Proposal!

Not only do the above reduce the overall cost of the project, it eliminates a lot of concerns on behalf of the clients and makes the project run smoother. Recent proposals have been reduced to 4 or 5 pages that can be easily communicated and discussed. Gone are the days of missing key points and requirements. In addition, second thoughts are always welcome. Our proposal and contract policy's are easily adapted to changes in the requirements of the project through addendum. Most Tenders and RFP's are written by people who have a good understanding of what they need before the project, yet after the team starts work, things often change. Most proposal's include a draft report at different stages of the project, so the client can see progress and watch developments.

David J. Sears

The Primary person behind ESL is David Sears. Mr. Sears took an early retirement from Edison International's, Southern California Edison after 25 years. His career was spent in management of Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Chemistry leaving as a Technical Specialist in SCE's Technical and Engineering Division. SCE being once the leader in the world in alternative energy supplies, provided David with practical experience in, but not limited to:

Mr. Sears began in Eastern Europe providing assessments of the energy systems, fuel delivery systems and electrical grid for Ukraine, Armenia and Georgia. Working with the Energy Ministries to provide information for the United States Embassies in those countries. His last year with SCE his efforts were over 95% billable before taking on consulting full time.

In 2001 Energy Solutions LLC was authenticated by the United States State Department, legalized by the Ukraine Government and registered with the Ukraine Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2002, Energy Solutions opened International Business Solutions, a Ukraine Daughter enterprise. IBS contains the regular staff of Ukrainian personnel to perform:
